From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

With filming now underway on Game of Thrones season 7, the spoilers are coming in thick and fast (**a fair few of them ahead**).

Los Siete Reinos has become the authority on shoots at the show’s Spanish locations, and this week reports that HBO is hunting for extras who are willing to have their heads and beards shaved (suggesting Unsullied) and is also seeking a large number of horses (suggesting Dothraki).

‘The filming in Los Barruecos of Malpartida will be a battle in which the Unsullied take part,’ according to Watchers on the Wall - presumably, they’ll be fighting alongside the Dothraki for Daenerys, but against whom we don’t know.

Another set leak claimed that Cersei will be teaming up with Euron however, so perhaps they will be the targets.

In other filming news, an actor whose character’s plot many thought had been abandoned was spotted arriving in Belfast this week.

Game of Thrones season 7 will consist of seven episodes rather than the usual 10 and is expected to arrive in summer 2017.
