From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Almost inevitably, by this point, the plot outline for the final episode of Game of Thrones season 7 - 'The Dragon and the Wolf' - has found its way online.

A detailed outline of every episode in season 7 include the finale, intended for internal use and dated April 2016 was posted on Reddit's Game of Thrones spoilers-dedicated subreddit, Freefolk, apparently originating from the HBO hack.

To get hold of the spoilerific details, all a user had to do was ask.

"The hacker put up his email on his website, so I emailed him back then now he sent me a complete overview of episode 7," u/Teamkhaleesi wrote (sic).

The detailed outline, some 20 pages long, was also sent to The Independent by the individual claiming to belong to the so-called Mr. Smith Group behind the hack, along with a shorter episode summary. We have chosen not to publish either.

Based on the leaked outline for previous episode - 'The Spoils of War' - this latest one is likely very accurate in terms of narrative and key plot points, though dialogue will likely change drastically.

At the time of writing, the episode itself has not leaked, be it via hackers or accidental transmission (as was the case with the previous episode, 'Beyond the Wall').

Game of Thrones season 7 concludes on HBO, Sky Atlantic and through NOWTV on Sunday night.
