From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Game of Thrones has released an ominous teaser trailer ahead of its 24 April release on HBO and Sky Atlantic.

It features solemn shots in the House of Black and White of those who have died in past seasons including Starks Ned, Catelyn and Robb, and King Joffrey.

Jon Snow is also there, because it seems they're trying to keep up the whole 'he's dead' lie - though perhaps the masks hint at transformation and rebirth.

The characters are heard saying:

"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword" - Ned

"I’ve won every battle but I’m losing this war" - Rob

"Show them how it feels to lose what they love" - Catelyn

"Everyone is mine to torment" - Joffrey

"The long night is coming and the dead come with it" - Jon

Ominously, the second half of Jon's quote about death is accompanied by a close-up of Tyrion's face.

The teaser has excited fans this morning, though many were hoping for something a little longer and with new footage.

Late last week, a new still from the season pointed to Sansa possibly being pregnant with Ramsay's child.
