** Spoilers for Game of Thrones season six episode seven below **

This week’s episode of HBO’s flagship show was remarkable for a number of reasons, the return of The Hound being the big one.

One of the smaller details many fans picked up on was that Yara Greyjoy enjoys the company of other women - in a scene featuring Yara and Theon about to set out for Mereen, they visit a brothel and she leaves with another female.

Speaking about her character’s sexuality with HBO, Gemma Whelan said she had “No idea” Yara was gay but concluded: “I reckon she’s anyway. I don’t think she’d limit herself to one or another. Anything goes. Get the job done with whatever if fun and interesting.”

In the same interview, she detailed how Yara and Theon’s relationship is still “broken” and that her character is still “far from trusting him after everything that’s happened”.

Elsewhere in the episode, the return of The Hound has led many fans to believe Cleganebowl could be happening in the near future, while Sansa’s mysterious letter has been decoded.
