From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We’re now three episodes into Game of Thrones and things are heating up a little. Tensions are high in King’s Landing, Jon Snow is basically Jesus and Bran is finding out more about his family.

So, where to from here? Episode four, titled ‘Book of the Stranger’ looks set to pick up some long forgotten storylines. Notably, Petyr Baelish (AKA Littlefinger, AKA Lord of the Wandering Accent) is set to make his season six return and is seemingly on the search for Sansa.

Meanwhile, Theon "Reek" Greyjoy is set to return to the Iron Islands, reuniting with his sister and discovering his father is dead. Margaery Tyrell looks set to make a prominent appearance, with the ever wonderful Olenna Tyrell also returning.

There's also Brienne, Sansa and Podrick appearing at, what we presume, is Castle Black. After that Jon Snow mic drop, will they just have missed out on seeing the Stark's brother?

When the title first leaked, many believed it to be a reference to one of Westeros’s Seven Gods, ‘The Stranger’. With the Faith of the Seven still in play in King’s Landing, and the High Sparrow appearing to Margaery, it seems the episode’s title will refer to whatever happens here.

In the episode’s plot description, Jaime and Cersei are said to be “improving their situation”. Seeing as Cersei is getting combative here, it looks like the Lannister siblings may get the upper hand in the capital.

Meanwhile, speculators are still wondering whether Jon Snow’s parentage will be revealed in the next few episodes, The Tower of Joy having made a prominent appearance in Episode Three.
