An apparent leak of Game of Thrones' eighth season has fans in an uproar.

While unconfirmed, a Reddit post by user "TheRealFikiDoctor" claiming to contain a full description of the first episode has been widely shared online. The Independent will not be posting spoilers here.

Many people believe the post to be true thanks to HBO's long history of accidentally leaking episodes of Game of Thrones early.

Fans of the fantasy show have reacted to the post on social media, with many vowing to avoid spoilers at all costs.

HBO has yet to comment on the purported leak and is unlikely to confirm or deny the post either way.

In other Game of Thrones news, Littlefinger actor Aidan Gillen has responded to a widely reported theory that the character may appear in the upcoming final season.

Season eight of Game of Thrones debuts on the 14 April. Read everything we know so far about the show here.
