Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

It might be a long wait until season six of Game of Thrones arrives in our lives next spring, but the good news is that there are themed Christmas jumpers out there for the picking.

From an ominous, black and grey ‘Winter is Coming’ design to a deep red ‘Hear Me Roar’ sweater, this is a range of choices sure to stand out at any festive party (in one way or another, at least).

Jon Snow fans still mourning his apparent death can purchase a rather fetching ‘Night’s Watch’ jumper complete with a little homage to the character himself, while the ‘Unbowed, Unbent, Broken’ option pays tribute to the harrowing episode in which Sansa Stark was raped by the evil Ramsay Bolton.

The ‘We Do Not Sow’ jumper is proving less popular, with some potential buyers complaining that the Kraken looks like “a funky uterus and ovaries”.

If you actually want to buy one, you have just four days to do so as they are limited edition, costing $25 each and available from onceuponatee.net.

Other products in the ‘Westeros Holiday Collection’ include Christmas tree ornaments, drinks coasters and onesies.
