From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Lisa Kudrow made a startling revelation during an interview with her Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston – she has never watched the sitcom.

However, Kudrow revealed why this was and it now has fans of the show keeping their fingers crossed it might one day happen.

“I don’t watch the show,” she told Aniston as part of Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” series, adding: ”I’m still not watching it in the hopes that one day we sit down and watch them together.”

Aniston – who played Rachel Green – said she has recently been revisiting episodes of the sitcom.

Speaking about the show’s first-ever table read, Aniston said she had vivid memories of meeting Kudrow for the first time.

“You were wearing an appropriate Phoebe Buffay [outfit], like a white linen, hippie shirt, and you had a bunch of seashells and necklaces on,” she said, adding: “You had these little blonde tendrils.”

Kudrow also said that starring in 10 seasons of a television show left her with “commitment issues”.

Both Aniston and Kudrow are set to participate in a planned Friends reunion with their other former co-stars – Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry.

The reunion special was supposed to be released in May to mark the launch of HBO Max, but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s looking like it will now be filmed in August.
