From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Joining comedian Kevin Nealon for an episode of the Hiking with Kevin webseries, Cox talked about her anticipation for the highly anticipated TV event, saying: ”The exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show.”
“It’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited.”
“We just actually recently did this, and it took forever. I don’t know how many years it was, maybe 15 years – and we finally all got together and had dinner”, said Cox.
“And when we get together, which is never – it just doesn’t happen very often, [we’ve done it] like twice since we ended the show – it’s just the most fun. We laugh so hard.”
Friends ran from 1994 to 2004 and is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.
It can currently be streamed on Netflix in the UK.
