From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Friends fans are kicking themselves for watching a TikTok video that points out Jennifer Aniston’s verbal tic in the show.

The tic was highlighted as part of a new TikTok challenge that has seen users sharing irritating TV show tropes. While Aniston’s habit isn’t a trope exactly, one fan decided to share their observation about her character Rachel Green with the world.

“What I’m about to say is going to ruin your life, especially if you are a big fan of the show Friends,” they said. “If you are a big fan of the show, I’m begging you, scroll away.”

A reel of Aniston repeatedly clearing her throat before speaking then plays out.

“Oh no… should have kept scrolling,” wrote one commenter.

“You told me to leave. I should have left,” another said, adding a crying emoji.

“I cant stop hearing that now,” added a third, while someone else joked: “Poor Jen Jen. Someone get her a lozenge.”

Friends fans also recently spotted an error in the sitcom’s eighth season when the role of Monica and Ross’ father, usually played by Elliott Gould, was played by someone else entirely.

Aniston made headlines this week after an interview she did with David Letterman resurfaced online.

In footage of the 1998 interview, Letterman suddenly takes a strand of Aniston’s hair and sucks on it, a move fans have branded “disgusting”.
