A joke about BTS had to be cut from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, one of its stars has revealed.

Marvel’s latest series for Disney Plus, which stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, comes to an end on Friday (23 April).

Ahead of the finale, actor Danny Ramirez, who plays Joaquin Torres on the show, told Collider that a lot of improvisation took place during filming.

While this was largely in scenes between Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, Ramirez improvised a line about the K-pop group BTS while shooting episode five of the superhero series. It ultimately had to be cut for “licensing” reasons, however.

“There’s not much that didn’t make the cut, but there’s a really funny moment in that last episode... I could see why they had to cut it based on, I think maybe licensing, who’s to say,” he said.

“But it’s this little ad-lib about how ‘I wish we were all more like the boy band BTS.’ Because I was like, I thought we could be more like [band member] RM.”

Ramirez continued: “It was a fun little thing and there was a little dance that went with it. So yeah, that was a little bit of something where that would have been cool.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier concludes Friday 23 April on Disney Plus.
