The actor spoke to The New York Times after it was revealed she’s nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Ozark.
The 2020 Emmys will take place on 20 September with Jimmy Kimmel as their host.
It remains unclear what form the ceremony will take.
The coronavirus pandemic has brought the entertainment industry to a near standstill, delaying movie and TV production across the board and making it impossible to host traditional awards shows.
“I can’t imagine it’ll be anything other than virtual, but we can sit on the couches and celebrate,” Linney told The New York Times.
“Maybe I’ll wear my Snoopy pajamas.”
Linney told the newspaper she was at the doctor’s office when her latest Emmy nomination was announced, and that she had forgotten that the nods were being unveiled on Tuesday – until her phone “exploded”.
The actor was nominated in the same category last year, also for Ozark.
She has won four Emmys for her performances in Wild Iris, Frasier, John Adams, and The Big C.
