Your support makes all the difference.Unfortunately for Doctor Who fans, there’s a long wait until season 10, which will air in 2017. Making the wait even more painful is the knowledge that filming is beginning on the 20 June, something that will no doubt lead to numerous set leaks and spoilers.
In an attempt to avoid any rumours, the BBC has already announced the return of Matt Lucas to the series, the Little Britain actor having previously starred in the Christmas special The Husbands of River Song.
“I’m chuffed to bits that Nardole is returning to the TARDIS for some more adventures,” he told the BBC. “I loved acting with Peter and I’m excited to work with Pearl.”
Steven Moffat, who is leaving the show once season 10 is over, said of Lucas’s return: “Delighted and slightly amazed to be welcoming Matt Lucas back on to the TARDIS - and this time it’s not just for Christmas, he’s sticking around. One of the greatest comedy talents on planet Earth is being unleashed on all of time and space.”
Season 10 will introduce the world to the Doctor’s new companion, played by Pearl Mackie, of the West End’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.
Recently, Peter Capaldi hinted Jenna Coleman may be returning to the show sometime soon, saying the two had filming something together post season nine.
