From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

After three years away from Doctor Who, David Tennant has returned as the titular time traveller once more, this time in audiobook form.

Along with co-star Catherine Tate - who played Donna Noble in the series - Tenant will reprise the role in Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures, with the first audio snippet having just been made available online.

In it, they can be heard visiting “an entirely mechanical planet” called Calibris where a deadly black market has opened. The segment is part of the second story, Time Reaver, part of a three-part series. Listen below.

The first part, Technophobia, written by Matt Fitton, sees the pair visit London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology.

The last story, Death and the Queen, by James Goss, sees Donna fall in love with a man on the planet Goritiana, a place the Doctor has never heard of before.

All three audio dramas are being made by Big Finish, with the full audiobooks available this May.
