Dave Chappelle scores Netflix deal for three original stand-up comedy specials
The announcement follows the comedian's appearance on the first post-election Saturday Night Live

Your support makes all the difference.After Dave Chappelle's appearance on the first post-election episode of Saturday Night Live, it's unsurprising that fans have been clamouring for more.
So they'll be pleased to hear that Netflix has announced that Chappelle and director Stan Lathan will produce an original stand-up comedy special exclusively for the streaming service.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the specials were filmed at Austin City Limits Live in April 2015, and the Hollywood Palladium in March 2016.
They mark Chappelle's first concert specials in 12 years, and are set for simaltaneous release in 2017.
Lisa Nishimura, Netflix VP of original documentary and comedy, said in a statement: "Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital and now more than ever, essential.
"Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix."
Chappelle's performance on SNL earned the show its highest ratings in three years.
The Netflix deal comes soon after the service announced two stand-up specials from Chris Rock in a huge $40 million deal, as part of its determination to ramp up its offering of original content and compete with the likes of HBO and Comedy Central with stand-up comedy.
