Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Jimmy Kimmel and Carrie Brownstein were the big name cameos in Curb Your Enthusiasm's season 9 return tonight, but, for The Office fans, it was Andy Buckley's brief stint that was cause for excitable tweeting - none other than Dunder Mifflin's embattled CFO, David Wallace.
Wallace had a rough ride over the course of The Office's nine seasons, being fired from the company at one point, losing his handle on reality and inventing a children's toy named 'Suck-It!'.
Though he would return to the paper company as its CEO, there were question marks as to whether he would hold it together.
Buckley wasn't technically playing Wallace in Curb, of course, but the similarity between Wallace and Buckley's FBI director character was good enough for fans to believe him saved.
Curb's season 9 opener saw Larry David get issued with a fatwa over the musical he was working on, the FBI having to advise him on how to escape assassination.
There are plenty more cameos on the way this season, including: Bryan Cranston, Lauren Graham, Nick Offerman, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Begley Jr., Nasim Pedrad, Elizabeth Perkins, June Diane Raphael, Casey Wilson, Andrea Savage, Damon Wayans Jr., Steven Weber, Katie Aselton and Judge Judy Sheindlin.
