From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It's been a great few days for Jeff Garlin; not only has HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm been confirmed to return for a ninth season but he's been handed his very own Netflix film.
Garlin will write, direct and star in Handsome, a "Columbo-style" mystery following the titular Los Angeles detective who is attempting to "make sense of his life as he solves crime."
Deadline reports that Andrea Siegel (Laggies) has co-written the project.
Garlin being an influential man in Hollywood, it's no surprise to see he's rounded up an impressive list of credits. Joining him for Handsome will be Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman), Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black), and stand-up comedian Eddie Pepitone.
A release date is yet to be announced for Handsome but it's a sure bet it'll debut at some stage in 2017 - the same year which will most likely see Garlin reprise his role of Larry David's manager and long-time friend Jeff Greene in season nine of Curb.
