Your support makes all the difference.Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has revealed that paedophile Jimmy Savile made advances towards her when she was 14.
Speaking to Piers Morgan in his interview show Life Stories, which airs tonight (18 March), she recalled how Savile invited her to his hotel room in 1979 after she and her sisters, who were in a band called The Nolans, appeared on Top of the Pops.
“He said he had a suite in a hotel and I should go up and see it and he’d look after me,” Nolan told Morgan.
“At the time I just thought, ‘You dirty old man. As if I’m going to go up there.’ I wouldn’t do it anyway. I’ve got four sisters on the stage that would have beaten the crap out of him.”
Nolan said she “was not in any way shocked” when the TV presenter’s abuse was revealed.
Following Savile’s death in 2011, 450 alleged victims of sexual abuse contacted the Metropolitan Police in just 10 weeks, with officials describing the scale of allegations against him as "unprecedented".
