Chernobyl has overtaken a number of the most acclaimed shows in history to become the highest-rated TV show of all time.
Since beginning on HBO and Sky Atlantic earlier this month, the drama – focused on the Soviet Ukraine’s devastating nuclear disaster of 1986 – has stunned critics and audiences alike.
The show, which has just ended with its fifth episode, currently sits at the top of IMDB’s poll compiling the greatest TV shows, with a staggering score of 9.7 out of ten.
But what shows has it beaten to earn the feat? Below is the top ten highest-rated scripted TV shows of all time on IMDb – not including documentaries such as Blue Planet, The Vietnam War or Cosmos.

Over on Metacritic, though, Chernobyl sits below shows including Twin Peaks, The Leftovers and Fleabag.
