From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A host of famous faces will enter the Big Brother house tonight as the star-studded version of the reality television series returns to our screens.

Show bosses have kept the names on this year's celebrity line-up tightly under wraps, with stars from both the UK and US expected to appear.

One of the strongest rumours is 18-year-old teen bride and singer Courtney Stodden - who rose to fame when she married 53-year-old actor Doug Hutchinson when she was just 16 - after she reportedly flew into London this week.

The blonde-haired model is believed to have been drafted in to replace Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kirstina Brown, who is said to have pulled out of the competition, according to reports.

Other names linked to the show include former football manager Ron Atkinson, Loose Women presenter Carol McGiffin, model Sophie Anderton, Abz from boyband 5ive, Joey Essex and Sam Faiers from TV series The Only Way Is Essex, and outspoken Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby.

Betting firm William Hill are also offering odds on TV fitness trainer Mr Motivator, pop star Peter Andre, and recently sacked Coronation Street actor Chris Fountain.

Celebrity Big Brother will be screened on Channel 5 at 9pm.
