Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney’s charming and well-received rom-com Catastrophe returns this month, seeing the couple struggling to deal with a new baby.
Channel 4 released a trailer for it this week, with Sharon’s fictional Sharon bellowing ”caesarian me please, it’s not too late!” during labour and later trying to breastfeed while high.
The next batch of six episodes will skip on from where they left things at the end of season one.
“The second season doesn't begin where the first season left off,” Rob Delaney told Vulture. “It's a hearty time-jump. It's almost like a sequel to a film, or something. And that's all we're allowed to say.”
As for Rob and Sharon’s characters sharing their names, he added: “The names are ours, and some of the traits are ours. The characters are certainly fictional, they do things we wouldn't do in real life. But there's a lot of overlap. The Venn diagram between Rob the character and Rob the human being, there's real overlap. Same with Sharon.”
Catastrophe series 2 arrives on Channel 4 in the UK on 27 October, with an Amazon Prime release to follow in the US.
