From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

For years, Game of Thrones fans have been patiently waiting for Arya and Sansa Stark to finally reunite.

However, HBO has been beaten to the punch, Apple Music’s Carpool Karaoke: The Series bringing Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner together on screen first.

The duo make an appearance in the latest trailer for the much-delayed series, alongside fellow celebrities Ariana Grande, Metallica, Will Smith, and John Cena.

Apple’s series takes James Corden’s famed Carpool Karaoke segment from the Late Late Show and expands it for an entire show, pairing up seemingly unrelated names such as Jessica Alba, will.i.am, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Meanwhile, the latest trailer for Game of Thrones includes a quick snapshot of Arya Stark looking out across a snowy landscape, Winterfell in the distance. Could we see the two Starks properly together within the week?

Carpool Karaoke: The Series kicks off 8 August in the US, 9 August in the UK on Apple Music, while the next episode of Game of Thrones airs Monday morning in the UK, Sunday evening in the US.
