From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Carpool Karaoke fans are going to be seeing a lot more of the popular sketch from James Corden’s Late Late Show after Apple Music bought the rights to a spinoff series.

The music streaming service will host the new 16-part run exclusively, with a premiere date yet to be announced.

Creator Corden will not be presenting but has been enlisted as executive producer after his previous Carpool Karaoke videos passed the 830 million mark for total YouTube views. The skit features Corden driving celebrities around in his car as they chat and sing along to the radio.

Carpool Karaoke: Michelle Obama and Missy Elliott

Viral episodes have seen the likes of Justin Bieber, Chris Martin, Stevie Wonder, One Direction and most recently, Michelle Obama, go for a drive with the British comedian. Highlights have included Jennifer Lopez texting Leonardo DiCaprio from her phone, Obama grooving to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and Adele rapping to Nicki Minaj.

Deadline reports that the spinoff will continue in a similar format, only the celebrities will be driven to places that have personal meaning for them, sing songs from their own playlists and surprise fans.

New episodes will be made available to Apple Music subscribers across more than 100 countries each week, while the sketch will continue as a recurring Late Late Show segment.
