At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The American Pyscho author will create The Deleted, states The Hollywood Reporter; a thriller surrounding the disappearance of three twenty-somethings in LA and how their deaths, though unconnected to each other, spring up a well of paranoia centered on their recent escape from a local cult.
This will mark Ellis' first real foray into directing, outside of a few shorts; with him largely being known as the author of bestselling novels such as The Rules of Attraction and Less Than Zero. In 2013, he both penned and produced the Paul Schrader-directed, Lindsay Lohan-starring The Canyons.
The Deleted will debut on Fullscreen in early 2017, though Fullscreen itself has just officially launched. Charging $4.99 a month, the teen-orientated subscription video service offers both original scripted programming and licensed TV shows and movies, including Dawson's Creek and Center Stage. So, Ellis will presumably be cleaning up his act a little for the teen scene?
Other scripted originals coming to Fullscreen include Filthy Preppy Teen, from comedians Paul Scheer and Jonathan Stern, and Electra Woman & Dyna Girl, starring YouTubers Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart.
