From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The introduction of Bloodline in 2015 offered one of the darkest new TV dramas of that year, but Netflix has announced that its third season will be its last.

Focusing on the Rayburn family, the series began with the return of black sheep Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) and the spiraling events his presence causes. Initially, the Florida Keys-set series started out a relatively laidback affair before slamming the pedal to the metal for its second half.

Season 2 debuted earlier this year picking up where the dramatic events of the first season's finale left off. It wasn't as critically well-received, but this didn't stop Mendelsohn and Kyle Chandler from receiving another Emmy nomination for their roles.

Sissy Spacek stars in the series as matriarch Sally while Linda Cardellini, Chloë Sevigny, Jacinda Barrett and John Leguizamo have also appeared over its two seasons.

Bloodline was created by Todd A Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman - the team behind legal thriller Damages. The latter previously claimed the writers had up to six seasons planned should Netflix want them.

Mendelsohn will next be seen in Star Wars prequel spin-off Rogue One while Chandler stars in Kenneth Lonergan drama Manchester by the Sea.
