Chloe Wilburn, 25, from Doncaster, a self proclaimed “chav” whose dream is to move to Benidorm, beat would-be prime minister Joel Williams to the top spot.
Williams, who at 19 is the youngest councillor in Wales, had to settle for being runner-up.
Danny Wisker, a 29-year-old demolition man from Margate, was third, Jack McDermott, 23, from Plymouth, was fourth, Nick Henderson fifth and Cristian MJC (Matthew Clarkson), 20, a rapper and biomedical science student from London, sixth.
The final six on the Channel 5 show had survived 10 weeks in the Big Brother house and been whittled down from 16 contestants.
Wilburn wept when the result was announced, and again as she left the house, and was still wiping away tears as she told presenter Emma Willis: “I'm so shocked, I don't feel I deserve this.”
Asked why she thought she had won, she said: “I think people forgot I was in there - and girl power, maybe.”
And asked if she had worried that being normal might not be enough, she said: “I felt a little bit talentless, a little bit out of place sometimes, and overshadowed.”
Williams said: “I'm very humbled that people have picked up their phone to vote for me and I've come second to an amazing, well worthy winner in Chloe.”
