From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The return date of Better Call Saul has been announced.

One month after the release of Breaking Bad‘s film sequel El Camino, it has been revealed that the show’s prequel will come back for a fifth season next year.

AMC released a brief teaser with the date 23 February, 2020. The US network will broadcast the first two episodes on that date.

Netflix usually streams the show in the UK the following day, so expect the episodes to become available on 24 February.

Bob Odenkirk will return as Jimmy McGill, whose journey to becoming Saul Goodman – the crooked lawyer we know him as in Breaking Bad – is in full swing following the climactic events of season four.

Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) will also return in the new episodes.

The first four seasons of Better Call Saul are available to stream on Netflix now.
