Unlike other platforms, it won’t have a huge back catalogue and will instead focus on original movies and TV shows.
Apple has brought in an impressive line-up of Hollywood actors to star in its shows, from Jennifer Aniston and Jason Momoa to Octavia Spencer.
The service will be available in the TV app that is pre-installed on iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Apple TVs, and soon Macs.

When will Apple TV+ launch?
Apple TV+ will be available in over 100 countries, including the UK, on 1 November.
To subscribe to Apple TV+, users will need to have iOS 12.3 or later, tvOS 12.3 or later and macOS Catalina.
How much does an Apple TV+ subscription cost?
Apple TV+ will cost £4.99 a month in the UK and $4.99 in the US for a family package, coming with a seven-day free trial starting on 1 November.
Customers who purchase any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac after 10 September are offerd one year of Apple TV+ for free.
Through Family Sharing, up to six people can share one Apple TV+ subscription.
Which TV shows and films will be available to stream on Apple TV+?
The service will include a range of original Apple series, with one of the first being The Morning Show, which stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell.
It was recently revealed that Aniston and Witherspoon will earn $2m per episode.
See, meanwhile, is a science fiction series set 600 years in the future featuring Jason Momoa and For All Mankind is an alternate history of the moon landings.
In December, mystery drama Truth Be Told starring Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul will land on the platform. It follows a true-crime podcaster and journalist as she reinvestigates a murder and questions if she helped put the wrong man behind bars for it.
Whimsical literary biopic Dickinson, a coming-of-age story in which Hailee Steinfeld will portray one of America’s most famous poets, Emily Dickinson, will also air on the service.
And Lisey's Story, with Clive Owen and Julianne Moore, revolves around a woman facing repressed realisations about her husband two years after his death.
Nature documentary The Elephant Queen, Chicago-set drama Hala and period piece The Banker are among the films to launch on the service after initially being screened in cinemas.
