Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Anna Faris, in the latest episode of her podcast, has shocked listeners by declaring that she is now married to Michael Barrett.
The reveal came during a conversation with Top Chef’s Gail Simmons about drifting away from friends after starting a relationship.
During the chat, Faris said: “My fiancé is right… well he’s now my husband. Yes, we eloped. I’m sorry, honey, I just blurted that out. I can’t say fiancé anymore.”
Detailing the nature of the wedding, Faris said “It was at a local courthouse up in Washington State. It was great.”
The actor also confirmed that they were married without the knowledge of their families.
“We saw my family and it kind of slipped out the same way. My aunt asked me, ‘You are going to be a stepmom. How are you feeling about that?’ and I said, ‘Actually I am a stepmom as of like four days ago, but it was great’.”
Answering why the couple decided to marry in secret, Faris reflected: “Everything about it just felt right.”
It is her second marriage after being wedded to actor Chris Pratt for nine years before divorcing in 2018.
