Your support makes all the difference.Smallville actor Emmanuelle Vaugier has said her co-star Allison Mack’s arrest for recruiting women into the alleged sex cult Nxivm was a “complete shock”.
Last year, Mack pleaded guilty to charges she was involved in a scheme to turn women into sex slaves for convicted Nxivm cult leader Keith Raniere.
Mack is still awaiting sentencing on two racketeering charges, which could each carry a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
Vaugier told Page Six: “I remember hearing about some sort of group that was empowering and the way I heard about it, it was more of a self-help kind of personal growth kind of programme.”
She added that Mack’s involvement came as a “complete shock” to her. “I had no idea of the depths of the darkness of what was going on there,” said Vaugier, “and it’s just incredibly sad and scary.”
Mack played Chloe Sullivan on sci-fi show Smallville, alongside Vaugier as Ellen Bryce.
Smallville first began airing in 2001 and ran for 10 seasons.
