From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Popular movie streaming service Netflix is to release a new animated series about a former alcoholic horse, with Will Arnett and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul in the voice booth.

Created by comedian and writer Raphael Bob-Waksberg and designed by respected cartoonist Lisa Hanawalt, BoJack Horseman will premiere next year.

Amy Sedaris is doing the talking for the horse’s feline agent and ex-girlfriend Princess Caroline, while Paul will act as his human sidekick.

The show, which takes its name from Arnett’s lead character, will run for twelve episodes and follow BoJack’s mission to get his 1990s television career back on track (yes, it makes little sense to us either).

Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, has described the adult-targeted show as a “brutally funny and unique take on what can happen after pop stardom”.

“Raphael has created an amazing set of characters voiced by some of the best comics and actors in the world,” he told TV Wise.

BoJack will struggle with the temptation of whisky, failed relationships and a general overwhelming sense of self-loathing.

Los Angeles-based studio Shadow Machine will be animating the series, with Michael Eisner’s Tornante Company producing.

Arnett has already enjoyed Netflix success with Arrested Development while Paul will be appearing in the upcoming Need for Speed.

BoJack Horseman will air in all territories where Netflix is established, including the US and the UK, sometime in the middle of 2014.
