The streaming service has found a truly nefarious way to announce season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events, which takes its basis from the 13 books penned by Lemony Snicket (in reality, Daniel Handler), and follows the three Baudelaire orphans: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny.
All three, terrorised by Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), who chose to terrorise viewers by clambering on screens to announce: "I'm so sorry to disturb your recovery, but it's time for us to get this New Year's Day binge started. Now there may be some of you who are surprised that Netflix would choose this as the first face you see in 2018, but those are the same people who wouldn’t recognise handsome if it set your house on fire."
He then introduced a first look at season 2, revealing a 30 March release date. While the first season adapted books The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, and The Miserable Mill; the trailer suggests this season will tackle The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, and The Vile Village. The show's already been renewed for season 3, so fans should be assured Netflix is intent on adapting the entire series (unlike a certain film studio).
