From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. In the brief teaser trailer released this weekend, it is revealed the episode will be set in New York City during the current pandemic. Tina Fey returns as a mask-wearing Liz Lemon who confronts a stranger on the street for not wearing a face covering.
The trailer also sees cast members Alec Baldwin, Tracey Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer reprising their roles for the reunion.
This will be the first time the cast has been together since the series ended seven years ago.
It was announced last month that 30 Rock would be returning for an hour-long reunion episode, which will air on Thursday 16 July on NBC. Recently, the network also produced a similar one-off episode for beloved comedy series, Parks and Recreation.
Created by Tina Fey, 30 Rock first aired in 2006 and ran for seven seasons. It follows the behind-the-scenes antics of a sketch comedy show and its head writer, Liz Lemon.
30 Rock won multiple awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for three consecutive years and the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy Television Series.
