An actor best known for starring in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why has been given a restraining order after allegedly kicking a former partner in the stomach.

The woman alleges that Uriah Shelton — described as an ex-boyfriend — hit her following an argument one night when she blocked him from getting into a truck.

TMZ picked up the story, detailing how Shelton, also a trained MMA fighter, allegedly left the woman with "inflamed intestines and bruising to muscles.”

A judge has ordered Shelton stay at least 100 yards (91 metres) away from the woman at all times. A representative for the Girl Meets World actor said he would “never harm another person and is currently unavailable for comment.”

Speaking with M Magazine previously, Shelton spoke about not getting on with female co-stars, particularly fellow Disney Channel star Rowan Blanchard.

“Rowan doesn’t necessarily like me. We’ve had a lot of [differences]. She doesn’t really like me. I don’t care,” he said at the time.

“I mean, I don’t have anything against her. She’s a very, you know, passionate girl. She definitely wholeheartedly believes what she does.”
