From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After a mid-season break for the hit US television sitcom, Glee, the show resumes on April 13. To promote the return, Fox network has released a "hypertrailer" that allows fans to link to the show's website and YouTube channel. Also, clicking on the image of a cast member connects to their fan page on Facebook.

The show is holding video casting calls on MySpace with a nationwide online search for fresh talent to fill new roles in the next season. Rules and songs are available on the site. Amateur or professional performers, age 16 or older, can submit an audition video until April 26: myspace.com/gleeauditions

During the break, cast members performed at the White House Easter egg hunt and at concert dates in select US cities.

The upcoming shows include guest stars such as Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and Neil Patrick Harris singing a Billy Joel song. There will also be shows devoted to tributes to Madonna and Lady Gaga's music.

Coldplay and Canadian rocker Bryan Adams have not allowed their tunes to be included in the show.
