From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Tonight’s episode (24 November) will mark the official halfway point for the campmates’ time in the castle. As viewers approach the end, it’s time to look forward to the finale.
The I’m a Celeb 2020 final episode is scheduled to air on Friday 4 December at 9:00pm on ITV. The finale is expected to finish at 10:35pm.
This year’s series runs for a total of three weeks, spanning 20 episodes that air into the beginning of December.
Live episodes are broadcast every day of the week excluding Saturday, which is when fans can look forward to a replay of highlights from the previous week.
Bets are being placed on who will emerge as this year’s winner. Although EastEnders star Shane Richie had previously leapt ahead as the favourite, BBC Radio DJ Jordan North is now odds-on to take home the crown.
North is currently the clear frontrunner at 8/11, while author Giovanna Fletcher has a 5/1 shot of coming out on top this year. You can keep track of the odds here.
The series opened to its highest viewing figures in seven years. The achievement is surprising given that this year’s showrunners were forced to shake up the show’s traditional format due to the ongoing pandemic.
Richie, North, Victoria Derbyshire, AJ Pritchard and Mo Farah are among the stars participating in the series, which is currently being filmed in an allegedly “haunted” castle in Wales.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs nightly at 9pm on ITV.
