Shane Richie’s son has accused I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! bosses of “editing the show to cause tension”.

During Thursday night’s episode (26 November), tension brewed between Richie and former Strictly pro AJ Pritchard over cleaning duties.

After eating dinner, the EastEnders actor asked who was doing the washing up, with Pritchard replying that it was himself and Jessica Plummer. Richie then jokingly threw his tin on the floor, with Pritchard seeming unimpressed by the move.

Resharing the clip on Twitter, Richie’s son Shane Nolan tweeted: “I know it’s a tv show but ur playing with people’s lives man [sic].”

He continued: “If their really is tension then I’m all for it. Or are you editing to cause tension? That’s what I can’t agree with. I know it’s telly but theirs vile comments being thrown around and it’s not fair [sic].”

Nolan also responded to a viewer who accused Richie of “bullying” Pritchard, replying with cry-laughing emojis and writing: “Bullying wtf is wrong with people.”

The Independent has contacted I’m a Celebrity for comment.

Following the perceived tension between the pair, Richie and Pritchard were voted by the public to take part in Friday (27 November) night’s Bushtucker Trial.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
