At the end of Tuesday night’s (17 November) show, the campmates were told that all 10 of them would be taking part in Wednesday’s trial, which is called Stage Fright.
Away from camp, Ant and Dec then explained that the current contestants wouldn’t actually be the ones doing the challenge, but rather new arrivals Ruthie Henshall and Russell Watson. You can read more about Henshall here and Watson here.
But while the presenters insisted that the campmates had no idea about Henshall and Watson entering the camp, the trial’s title seemed to be a clue about the musical theatre performer and classical singer for certain contestants.
“R and R,” Shane Richie was heard repeating to Jessica Plummer and Victoria Derbyshire, seemingly in reference to the incoming campmates whose first names both begin with the letter R.
The clip was widely circulated on Twitter, with viewers claiming that the contestants must have already known about Henshall and Watson and were directly contradicting what Ant and Dec had said.
“Dec (about the new arrivals): “None of that lot know it yet...” Shane Richie: “Stage Fright?... R and R, R and R” (...which clearly stands for Russell and Ruthie!),” one viewer tweeted.

“Why was Shane Richie saying R & R after hearing the trial name and then it’s announced Russell and Ruth are coming in?” another questioned. “Do they already know the script of what trials are coming and who’s coming in?”
“Did Shane Richie shout ‘R&R’ and then the two newcomers’ names begin with R?” another asked.
One viewer tweeted: “How can Ant & Dec claim that the new celebrities going in are anonymous, however Shane Richie repeats their initials R&R to the other camp mates as a signal to who is coming in?”
Elsewhere in Tuesday’s show, former Coronation Street star Beverley Callard faced criticism for not revealing that she was a vegan before taking part in the first eating trial of the series.

However, Vernon Kay confirmed that the vegan dishes would not have been the easy option viewers thought them to be, commenting that he’d rather eat “c*** and balls” after smelling the fermented tofu.
