Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid has announced she will be taking a break from the show over the Christmas period.

The 55 year-old who often keeps her fans updated with her life away from the screen on Instagram, confirmed the news on the social media platform on Wednesday (13 December).

The presenter shared a snap of herself in a glittery green dress with the caption: “CHRISTMAS BREAK! Off @gmb til new year - THANK YOU and HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all our viewers. See you in January.”

Fans were quick to comment on the news.

One user wrote under the post: “You’ll be missed. You’re my favourite.”

“Have a lovely Christmas break,” another fan said.

“Lucky for some! Have a relaxing break. Thank you for all your good work. You do add value to one’s day,” said a third fan.

Before announcing her break from the ITV show, Reid spoke to former Sky Sports and World Darts Championship presenter Dave Clark, who opened up about his battle with Parkinson’s disease.

“By popular demand @gmb the full interview with brilliant @DaveClarkTV on living positively with Parkinson’s and why the darts is such an essential part of Christmas,” Reid wrote on X/Twitter.

The 56-year-old dad-of-two told GMB news about how he lives positively with Parkinson’s disease - a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years.

"I went past a shop window and I thought I had a shoulder problem because my arm wasn’t swinging. I went to the doctors and he said it’s not physical - it’s neurological,” Clark added.

"I then went to see another doctor and he said how old my kids were, I said seven and four at the time. He then asked how big my mortgage was.

“I said big. He said I had three or four years doing my presenting job. I did it for 10 [years] presenting world heavyweight title fights. I am really proud of that." He later went on to say that "Yorkshire cricket" is keeping him going.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
