From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Game of Thrones' eighth season is now in full swing, and fans are about to sit down to the longest episode in the fantasy drama's history.

The third episode of the current and final season, airing this coming Sunday night, will run for an hour and 22 minutes.

This means the episode, the title of which isn't yet known, will become the longest Game of Thrones episode ever.

The previous record holder is the season seven finale The Dragon and the Wolf, which lasted an hour and 20 minutes.

Winterfell, the first episode of season eight, ran for 54 minutes.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the second instalment, was slightly longer, lasting 58 minutes.

HBO previously revealed the runtimes for each of the six episodes making up the eighth season.

The fourth one will run for and hour and 18 minutes, while the fifth episode will last an hour and 20 minutes.
