Paul Kenyon explores the potential impact on British schools and the NHS of the end of restrictions on the free movement of Romanian and Bulgarian nationals. He visits one Romanian village where most of the men have already left to pursue work in London’s black economy.

Tom Kerridge Cooks Christmas

The hearty pub chef offers a twist to the traditional roast by steaming a turkey breast then covering it in a crumble topping made from pistachios and cranberries. It’ll never catch on.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks

Johnny Vegas hosts a festive edition. Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden and Twenty Twelve’s Jessica Hynes guest.

Sex therapist Trudy Hannington sees 50 clients a week, such as Fiona, who has no desire for sex other than on “birthdays, weddings and anniversaries”.

A fancy-dress birthday party is thrown for Howard by the smitten Candice (Faye Marsay). The best line belongs to humourless Dutch ex-flatmate Sabine, who says: “I’ve come as Hannah Montana... obviously.”
