From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Today is actor David Schwimmer’s 49th birthday.

Schwimmer is arguably best known for playing Friends' Ross Geller the nerdy palaeontologist who had a long running on-off relationship with Rachel Green.

More recently Schwimmer has joined the cast of a new channel 4 sitcom, Morning Has Broken. The six episode British comedy is set to air next year and is based on a failing TV breakfast show. He plays a TV producer who is tasked with saving the show.

Schwimmer has also starred in an episode of former Friends co-star Matt Le Blanc's successful sitcom Episodes. He's also dablled in the world of directing with films such as British comedy Run Fatboy Run and Trust.

To celebrate David’s birthday we’ve put together a quiz on everyone’s favourite Friends nerd Ross Geller.
