Kaz and Tyler, Chloe and Toby, Faye and Teddy, and Millie and Liam are all in with a chance of being the 2021 winning couple.
The show is often seen as one of the best reality television platforms to launch a career in entertainment. But how much do the islanders win if successful and do participants earn anything from their appearance on the show?
The finale will apparently follow the same pattern as every other series of Love Island. The winning couple will be chosen by the viewers, with an impressive prize of £50,000. However, the winning couple then each receive their own envelope. One envelope contains the full prize money, and the other contains nothing.
The person with the more bountiful envelope must then declare whether they wish to keep the £50,000 for themselves – in effect proving that Love Island is a horrid sham and love is dead – or split the money with their partner.
Since 2015, winning couples have always split the money with their partners.
On top of the cash prize, the winners often go on to have lucrative careers and earn sponsorship deals with various brands.
Speaking to The Sun, one half of 2019’s winning Love Island couple Amber Gill explained how she earned a number of deals after leaving the show.
Amber launched a clothing line with MissPap, reportedly signing a deal worth close to £1m .
Amber said: “I always told my family I’d be a millionaire and now I am.”
The stars of Love Island 2021 have also reportedly been paid a small amount each week to cover their rents as well any general costs back home.
