"It's quite good, though I didn't feel particularly engaged during the first half. I think that was down to the love scenes not being convincing. The battle scenes and the stuff between the Greeks is much more interesting; the love scenes have a minor part. The set is wonderful, and so are the costumes. It's more the play that is the problem."
ANN RUMPUS

"I think it's a difficult play, but it is the second time I've seen it, which makes it easier. It's a lively production, the lighting is wonderful and it's very well staged. The play has long speeches that are hard to stage, and playing Pandarus as the voyeur and go-between makes it hard to sympathise with the central character."
JOHN NEWSTEAD

"It was well done and quite dramatic, rather erudite. I am not a Shakespeare fan, but I found it easy to understand. It's funny, too. And it's the first time I've seen a Shakespeare character played by a Page Three girl."
SARAH FRANCIS
18, student, London
"I have never seen Shakespeare on stage before, although I am a big fan. The design is colourful and evocative, yet simple. I was impressed."
