From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Hugh Jackman will soon embark on a live tour across Europe and America.

The Australian actor and singer, who is performing on Tuesday at the Brit Awards, announced the tour in the wake of the success of The Greatest Showman, the musical film released in December 2017.

Jackman plays ringmaster PT Barnum in the film, which also stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.

Dubbed Hugh Jackman: The Show, the tour will see Jackman perform songs from various musicals, beginning in Glasgow in May and ending in Hollywood in July.

Here is everything you need to know about Hugh Jackman’s world tour:

What songs will he sing?

Jackman is set to perform tunes from The Greatest Showman, of course, but also from Les Misérables, having starred in the 2012 film adaptation as Jean Valjean.

His répertoire will also include songs from The Boy from Oz, the Broawday play that earned him a Tony Award in 2004.

The actor and singer will also include more picks from other Broadway shows and movies.

He will be accompanied by a live orchestra throughout the tour.

When is the tour taking place?

Jackman’s tour is currently set to kick off on 7 May in Glasglow.

It will continue for a bit more than two months, with Jackman playing regular gigs every few days.

The tour is set to wrap up on 20 July in Hollywood.

Where will he perform?

Jackman’s tour will begin in the UK – namely in Glasgow, with later dates in Manchester, Birmingham and London.

The actor will travel to Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Ireland, before heading to the US in Texas, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California.

The North American leg of his tour will also see him perform in Canada.

How much do tickets cost?

It depends on the venue and on the type of tickets.

Tickets for Jackman’s shows at the London O2 Arena range from £47.75 ($62.50) to £87.50 ($114).

Access to his performances at New York City’s Madison Square Garden currently costs between $90 (£68.75) and $249 (£190).

Is anyone joining Jackman on tour?

Jackman has said that Robbie Williams will join him at some point during the tour.

“I’m a big fan of having guests on tour, concerts should feel like something happened that night that couldn’t happen anywhere else,” he told Capital’s Marvin Humes.

“So, I don’t know if I should say, but Robbie’s going to join me at one point.”
