Finally, Disney has confirmed that the Tony Award-winning show will open on 9 June next year at the Prince Edward Theatre.
The full cast has yet to be announced but it has been announced Trevor Dion Nicholas will take on the role of the Genie, having been the understudy at the New York production.

“In 1992, Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Tim Rice’s reimagining of the Aladdin tale became the biggest movie of the year around the globe,” a Disney spokesperson told Metro.
“Now 23 years later, Casey Nicholaw’s production lifts a whole new audience and sends them home on air.
“We are thrilled to fly Aladdin’s carpet to London where the show has found its ideal home in Cameron Mackintosh’s stunning Prince Edward Theatre.”
The original cast of Aladdin recently got back together to celebrate the Blue-Ray release of the original Disney film.
During the show, never-before-seen footage of Robin Williams as the Genie was aired. The original Aladdin and Princess Jasmine also reunited to sing 'A Whole New World’.
Aladdin, the musical, is directed and choreographed by Book of Mormon alumni Casey Nicholaw and started its broadway run in March 2014. It uses the original score that won Sir Tim Rice an Oscar in 1993.
