Your support allows us to keep these vital issues in the spotlight. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to fight for truth and justice.

The Independent is offering its readers an exclusive opportunity to hear and download Suzie Pugh and a Monster Too, a new audio drama for children from Made in Manchester/Dark Smile.

It was very very nearly, almost just about the time for Christmas, and far above the birds and the clouds and the aeroplanes - something was coming to earth. Something big and wobbly and incredibly strange...

Meanwhile in an ordinary house, in an ordinary street, Suzie Pugh was getting ready for the holidays, but this was to be a Christmas time like no other. This was the start of a magical adventure for Suzie Pugh... and a monster too.
