The hugely popular 80s shows will enjoy limited seasons at two of London’s major theatres.
Cats will play for a limited 12 week period at the London Palladium from December, while Evita will open at the Dominion on 16 September for 55 performances.
Based on poetry by TS Eliot, Cats is known for its soaring musical numbers including “Macavity: the Mystery Cat”, “Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats” and the iconic “Memory”.
It originally opened in 1981 with Elaine Paige in the role of Grizabella, but the new cast is yet to be announced.
Evita will star Scottish singer Marti Pellow as Che, with newcomer Madalena Alberto in the title role.
The show, which was adapted into an Oscar-winning musical starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, features tracks including “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” and “You Must Love Me”.
