Candyman (18; Odeon Mezzanine and general release). Bernard Rose's intelligent shocker about a Chicago bogeyman - more surreal than scary.

Scent of a Woman (15; Empire Leicester Sq, and gen release). Al Pacino, blind, berserk and brilliant, gives an Oscar-winning salute to pleasure.

Pandora's Box (PG; Everyman, Tues only, 3.30 & 8.50pm). Louise Brooks' as the man-devouring heroine of Pabst's 1928 erotic tragedy.
