The Sunday Preview: The five best films
Othello (U; Curzon West End). The best Shakespeare film of all, made by Orson Welles in 1951, in a new print.
Unforgiven (15; Empire Leics Sq, MGM Fulham Rd, Haymarket, Oxford St and Trocadero, Camden Plaza, Coronet, Screen on Baker St, Whiteleys). Ageing killer Clint Eastwood takes on sheriff Gene Hackman and wreaks a violent revenge in his most sombre western yet.
Les Amants du Pont-Neuf (18; Lumiere). Leos Carax's bizarre Parisian love story, starring Juliette Binoche as a half-blind tramp, is full of squalor and unexpected magic. Worth it just for the water-skiing.
Alien3 (18; Odeon Mezzanine, MGM Shaftesbury Ave). The beast is back, tracked by Sigourney Weaver in a flawed but fascinating climax to a squelchy trilogy. Anthony Lane
Bringing up Baby (PG; Riverside, today only, at 3.15). Surely the funniest film of the 1930s. Cary Grant plays an obsessive zoologist, Katherine Hepburn a screwball heiress intent on distracting him. Pure joy. Florence Roberts
